This release addresses the needs of HFS+ to be introduced with Mac OS 8.1.  All the changes are concentrated in the Unicode Converter.  No major changes were done to the Text Encoding Converter, a.k.a. High Level Converter.   Please refer to the TEC 1.3 Dev Release Note.pdf document for all the details regarding changes from 1.2.1.

  7. * New interface file, UnicodeConverter.h, which replaces Unicode.h.
  8. * 68K Static Library.
  9. * Support for Unicode canonical decomposition when converting to or from Mac OS encodings.
  10. * Enhancements to ConvertFromTextToUnicode.
  11. * Enhancements to ConvertFromUnicodeToTextRun (ScriptRun).
  12. * Many mapping changes.  Mainly required to accomplish round-trip fidelity for all Mac Encodings in HFS+.
  13. * Fixed a good number of TEC 1.2.1 bugs.

  16. TEC 1.3 is a required component of Mac OS 8.1.  It addressed a number of serious bugs in 1.2.1 and added functionality missing.  In general, we encourage you to use and ship your products using this version instead of 1.2.1.
